how do we ensure the PROPAGATION of life in the universe?
Our species has developed the power to genetically modify living things, to edit the fundamental unit of life. Existing tools are being used to heal people and to make the sick healthy again. However, the same tools that empower us to genetically modify ourselves for medicinal purposes can be used to change humans in any way imaginable. It won’t be long until we begin designing “improved” humans, and whatever comes after Homo sapiens. If the future of our species is a blank canvas and our generation holds the paintbrush to paint it, what do we want to create?
